“No More Vodka In My Orange Juice”

“No More Vodka In My Orange Juice”

Without proper treatment, I probably would have been neglecting my family and drinking myself into an early grave, but now I’m doing something I love and being there for my sons the way I should have been all along. No one will be waiting by a classroom door waiting for Daddy to show up again. Now my sons, who are nineteen and twelve, tell me that they want to take over Clarity Way one day. They know why this work matters. Christopher’s first job was washing dishes at the facility. I think it’s important that the boys know about the realities of addiction. I don’t want to sugarcoat my past. We’re not afraid to tell them about the beauty of recovery. They know our staff and how much they care, and they know that together we save lives...My biggest hope is that every addict will find his or her path to recovery. It’s an amazing place to be once you get there—full of possibility and hope—and I believe that every one of us can get there and stay there. I wish you a bright future, free of the grips of addiction. May you find your path to recovery.
